Governed AI Execution

AI agents propose. Governance decides.

In a regulated enterprise, an AI agent must not just receive an API key. Nitrotick makes agents bounded actors: every action is authorized by capability and policy, gated by humans where it matters, and recorded with the exact context that produced it.

Governed AI decision pipeline An AI agent proposes an action. The governance gate checks identity, capability, policy and risk. The outcome is allowed, warned, held for human approval, or rejected. Allowed, warned and approved actions are committed durably; every outcome, including rejections, is written to the tamper-evident evidence log. AI Agent Proposes an action — never decides GOVERNANCE GATE ✓ Identity ✓ Capability & scope ✓ Policy version ✓ Action risk rules Checked at execution time Allowed Warned Held → Human Rejected if approved Durable commit Deterministic execution; blocked steps never commit EVIDENCE LOG · EVERY OUTCOME RECORDED Agent · inputs · historical context · policy version · capability · decision · approver · resulting state
A governance decision that blocks or holds a step has real effect: the result is not committed — not merely flagged after the fact.
Principles

Autonomy with accountability

The question is no longer whether AI agents will run business processes — it is whether you can prove, years later, why each action was allowed.

Bounded actors

Agents operate with explicit, capability-scoped authority. They cannot exceed the scope, duration or risk level they were delegated.

Propose, never decide

Document extraction, anomaly flags and recommendations are proposals. The governed execution layer — not the model — holds authority.

Human approval where it matters

You declare in the workflow definition which steps require human sign-off, from whom and under what conditions.

Decision context is evidence

Each action records the historical context, inputs, policy version and capability it relied on — deterministically reconstructable.

Instant, atomic revocation

If an agent or an external partner's agent loses authorization, its grants are revoked atomically — without stopping healthy processes.

Agent-to-agent across institutions

Agents can delegate across organizational boundaries through Nitrotick Federation, with every hand-off signed and verified.

Example

A governed engineering-to-quality hand-off

Many critical hand-offs still run on e-mail, spreadsheets and manual sign-off chains — workable, but without shared evidence or automatic policy enforcement.

With Nitrotick every arrow becomes a governed transition with its own identity, approval requirement and entry in the evidence chain. AI assists at each step; people approve where you decide; the record is provable on both sides of every boundary.

  1. Engineering change requestAI extracts affected parts and flags risk; the request is submitted under the engineer's identity.
  2. Supplier validationA federated supplier node validates under its own authority and returns signed evidence.
  3. Manufacturing approvalDesignated as critical — held for human approval with full context.
  4. Tool releaseReleased only if the capability and policy version are still valid at execution time.
  5. Quality confirmationFinal state committed; the complete chain is independently verifiable.
Regulatory alignment

Built for the EU AI Act era

Nitrotick provides technical evidence that supports your AI compliance programme. It complements — and does not replace — your risk assessments, documentation and conformity procedures.

How Nitrotick supports EU AI Act obligations
ObligationWhat it requiresNitrotick contribution
Record-keepingAutomatic logging of events over the lifetime of high-risk AI systemsAppend-only, tamper-evident evidence of every agent action and decision
Human oversightEffective oversight by natural persons, including the ability to interveneDeclarative human approval gates; held steps do not commit
TraceabilityAbility to trace outputs back to inputs and contextDeterministic reconstruction of inputs, context and policy version
Robustness & controlResilience against errors, faults and misuseCapability-scoped authority, atomic revocation, durable recovery
Execution economics

Measure what every governed step really costs

Nitrotick measures execution cost per step, keeping cost analysis and runtime resilience as a separate operational layer from governance.

That turns AI-assisted processes into something you can optimize with the same discipline as Lean and Six Sigma: find the bottleneck, remove waste, and prove the improvement.
